154 gas temp sensor location??

Post by Kpgus22 »

My 154 does not have a temperature gauge and I’m trying to add one. I’m trying to find the location on the block where the temp sensor should go. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Below the thermostat housing o the right hand side is a bung. Remove this and fit either an electric sender or a capillary pipe as in the photo. Threads are 5/8 unf from memory. If the capillary type bulb is too long there is a spacer union which can be fitted. The tractor in the photo is many colours because its the first prototype Nuffield 4/25 to be fitted with the gasoline engine. The diesel cylinder head has the same removable bung. John Poulter.
