Hydraulic control levers seized.

Post by farmerbraun »

It seems that this is a general problem , especially with the rack and pinion type.
All the breaker's yards report that this quadrant is one of the most sought after items, and they generally move out as fast as they come in.

But on the 285 and 2100 there was a single lever for both position and draught control with a mid-point for fully raised position.

Has anyone tried to make a similar single control for the other models that have the rack , such as 270 and 253?

I'm just contemplating freeing up some very solid controls , and wondering if there is a better way. Even fitting grease nipples on the outer shaft does not seem to be of lasting effect.

Got any tips on getting them apart without breaking anything?
